About Orbit.

Most AI tools ask you to trust the answer. Orbit is built around the opposite idea: show the source, show the steps, show the arithmetic, and let you decide what changes.

Principles.

01

Checkable beats confident

A claim without a source is labelled as one. A quotation that cannot be found is never shown as evidence. We would rather say “not verified” than sound sure.

02

Orbit proposes, you decide

Edits to your documents are diffs you apply. Tasks are drafts you approve. Project memory changes only when you accept a suggestion.

03

Show the direction clearly

Explore the roadmap and the current public preview. Upcoming capabilities will be announced as they are ready.

04

Cost you can see

Estimates before large requests, a confirmation above a threshold, and limits that refuse rather than bill you by surprise.

05

Honest about privacy

Running locally does not mean AI processing stays on your device. We say exactly what is sent, and we never call temporary chats private.

A working local preview, not a finished service.

In the local development preview

Chats, eight work modes, verified research, the document workspace, projects, the agent, Markets research and paper trading, export and delete. All of it runs on one computer.

What is a demo

Demo mode uses scripted replies so the machinery can be tried without an AI model. It shows how Orbit works, not how well a model writes.

What is not connected

Paid checkout, accounts, and any link to NovaSoft One or NovaSoft Sites. Orbit does not touch CRM data, publish anything or share sign-in with other products.

What is still to build.

This is a list of intentions, not promises or dates. It is ordered by what most improves trust in the core work.

Next

  • Prove it with a live model. Validate the live connection with a real key and a small spending cap, then publish measured quality and cost.
  • PDF support. The most common real-world document, with page numbers in citations.
  • Streaming research answers. Show the text as it arrives, then verify and annotate it.
  • Better retrieval, only if measurement shows search is the bottleneck.

Soon

  • Table editing and charts that show the numbers behind them.
  • Export and import a whole project as a portable folder.
  • Mobile polish and a screen-reader audit with real assistive technology.
  • Clearer contradiction detection, labelled as model-assisted.

Later, and needing separate decisions

  • Running code, but only inside a properly isolated environment.
  • Web research with the same quote-checking, and the source date shown.
  • Connections to NovaSoft One and Sites, once their access and permissions are settled.
  • Scheduled and background workflows, with their own approval rules.

Before the Orbit app is hosted publicly

  • Accounts, sign-in and per-user access control.
  • An encrypted managed database, backups, and deletion that covers them.
  • Rate limits, abuse handling and provider spending ceilings.
  • A privacy and retention review, a security test, and updated terms.
