Native desktop builds
A chat-first Windows and macOS application has been implemented, with conversations, projects and workspace tools. The desktop client uses the Orbit service for connected AI; it is not an offline healthcare scribe.
Orbit / Roadmap
Orbit has grown beyond the original chat and workspace. Here’s what has been built, what is under review, and what we’re planning next for Australian healthcare and the wider NovaSoft ecosystem. No launch dates are announced.
Development progress as of 19 October 2026. An implemented build is a milestone; public availability depends on the remaining release work.
A chat-first Windows and macOS application has been implemented, with conversations, projects and workspace tools. The desktop client uses the Orbit service for connected AI; it is not an offline healthcare scribe.
Text extraction from readable PDFs is implemented, retaining page headings. Workspace outputs have expanded to document previews, tables, charts and downloads. Scanned PDFs still need OCR, which is not enabled.
The image creation workflow is implemented as a release candidate, with account controls and usage limits. Production activation remains disabled pending its release checks.
Orbit Health now has guided on-device notes, editable summaries and local PDF generation. The build is restricted to fictional examples; it is not clinically validated or released for patient care.
Development has added reusable prompts, conversation branches, output refinement and specialist tools. Availability depends on the plan and enabled features.
The next healthcare plans connect GP documentation, patient preparation and doctor-shared context. Local transcription and NovaSoft’s Australian healthcare model remain planned.
See the clinical walkthroughFor GPs: an on-device transcription app that keeps consultation audio and draft notes on their computer, with GP review before use.
For patients: preparation reports they can review and choose to send to a GP or practice that has opted in to Orbit Clinical, followed by questions grounded in information the doctor shares.
For Australian healthcare: a model NovaSoft plans to fine-tune on approved healthcare information and reviewed examples. Model training and clinical validation are not yet confirmed.
Describe the job in plain words. The agent opens the apps, clicks, types, moves files and fills in forms, the way you would, while you watch. It is the same Orbit agent you can use today, with your computer added to its tools.
“Pull last month’s invoices into one folder and email me a summary.”
Every step is listed before and as it happens, like the agent’s steps today.
The plan is a visible screen, a Stop button that always works, and approval before anything hard to undo, such as deleting, sending or paying.
A record of what it did, so you can check the work as you check answers today.
The example prompt and the safeguards describe the intended design. Details will be confirmed as it is built.
NovaSoft software is meant to be controlled and used through NovaSoft products, with Orbit as the common thread. Everything here is planned.
Orbit looks things up, drafts and makes changes inside NovaSoft One for you, with your approval.
Orbit builds, edits and publishes pages on NovaSoft Sites for you, with your approval.
One account across NovaSoft products, so Orbit and the rest recognise you without separate logins.
Reach Orbit from within other NovaSoft software, with the same checkable answers and the same approvals.

Open Orbit, attach a file, and ask the question you would normally spend an afternoon on.
